Our new Workshop was opened in November by TV’s very own Kirstie Allsopp. The workshop has been funded by a grant from Cummins Technologies via Global Giving, and it has been built and equipped to give our Team Members an additional set of activities that help to develop independence, confidence, and motor skills. Staffed by Lee O’Connor, an ex Design and Technology Teacher, all 29 of our young people are taking part in many hands-on craft and construction sessions, including woodworking and jewellery making. A number of items are for sale in the cafe, and can be personalised to order. Our activities programme is developing fast alongside our successful cafe, and staff costs are funded solely by grants and donations, for which we are very grateful.
